for the taking
I can feel the world-changing
Beneath my feet,
Phases
I don’t know what I’m chasing
But it has no skin
Vacant
Placement
Of stars and symbols
Quaking
Like nervous knees
on stages
And the replacement
A sturdy heart
Faceless
I think my feelings are too big for my body
It’s breaking
And the love I thought was love but wasn’t love
Left me jaded
And now when I try to count sheep they run in the other direction
It’s complicated
The world turns on an axis
But my knees are straightened
Even though things look sideways
The coordinates manipulated
That is to say, that perception is like water
Always shifting, ever-changing
So I break my bones into sharper angles
Just to start a conversation
And when you try to meet me at the center
You’ll be left with an equation
That I’m still trying to solve myself
Still left deliberating
All I’m trying to say is
The table is set and the oven is on
Baking
What always belonged to us
It’s no mistake and
There’s a time for everything
But now is mine for the taking
